Envisioning the future of clinical practice and anticipating the competency needs of trainees is one of the most important tasks medical educators face.
Artificial intelligence (AI), with its potential to greatly enhance the delivery of health care, is impacting our profession now, and its role is expanding rapidly.
This session will provide educators with a fundamental understanding of AI or “augmented intelligence,” which is the nuanced term the American Medical Association prefers in that it reinforces how these tools will supplement, not supplant, the role of physicians and other health professionals.
Many important facets to consider
With AI rapidly advancing there is urgency to begin identifying appropriate learning objectives across the continuum with close attention paid to core knowledge, skills, and attitudes that all physicians and other health care professionals will need.
In addition, with AI promising to enhance the process of education itself, this session will discuss current and potential applications for individualization and efficiency—precision education—and outline exciting possibilities that may be ahead.
Attend this new AMA webinar to:
• Gain a deeper understanding of the emerging role of AI (artificial intelligence or augmented intelligence) in health care and how this differs fundamentally from prior emerging technologies
• Be able to articulate multiple issues related to the rapid implementation of AI
• Discuss what knowledge, skills and attitudes health care professionals will need to effectively interface with, and optimize the utility of, AI in practice
• Contemplate how AI can be leveraged to enhance and individualize health professions education
