RISE Health Science Education Innovation (HSEI) Competencies

The RISE Innovation Competencies were determined based on a thorough review of the literature and refined in collaboration with our RISE Advisory Council members. They have been used to guide funding decisions, develop assessment tools, and monitors the longitudinal innovation development of members of our Community of Practice.

The RISE Health Science Education Innovation (HSEI) Competency Development Rubric is used to assess seven competencies essential to personal and professional development in health science education innovation. This rubric guides RISE funding decisions; and for our funded innovators, it is used to assess HSEI competency development.

RISE Health Science Education Innovation (HSEI) Culture Survey Report 2021

This 21-item Innovation Culture Survey is based in evidence found in the literature and vetted by members of a core team responsible for the innovation initiative. The survey items seek to better understand the degree to which our organization is: 1) cultivating an education innovation culture that inspires collaboration and creativity; 2) supporting a culture of education innovation with necessary resources; 3) promoting education innovation with intelligent risk-taking and dissemination of new information; and 4) achieving education innovation by deconstructing barriers and translating findings into practice.
